thegeneralstoreuk.shop is operated by THEGENERALSTORE LTD ("Paperlane", "we"). By placing an order or creating an account you agree to these terms.

We sell physical stationery and paper goods only. We do not sell food, sweets, chocolate or edible items. We describe paper weights, nib sizes and contents as accurately as we can; slight colour variation between print batches is normal and the physical item takes precedence. Planners and calendars are undated — you fill in your own dates.

All washi, sticker, wrap and card designs are our own original or generic patterns. We do not sell items bearing licensed characters, sports teams, celebrities, film, game or brand artwork, and we will not produce custom designs that infringe third-party rights.

All prices are shown in US Dollars (USD) and include applicable item pricing; shipping is shown at checkout. An order is a purchase offer that we accept when we dispatch it. We may decline or cancel an order (for example, if an item is mispriced or out of stock) and will refund any payment taken.

Payment is processed securely by Stripe. We never see your full card number. If a payment fails or is reversed, we may hold or cancel the order.

Membership is a pure subscription of perks (member pricing, free shipping, early access, and for Lane Studio a quarterly stationery box). It includes no credits or stored value. You may cancel any time from the customer portal; access continues to the end of the paid period. Seasonal boxes already dispatched are not refundable.

Some items contain small parts (choking hazard for children under 3), sharp or pointed tools (not toys), or ink that can stain and must not be swallowed. Use products as intended and keep them away from young children. See each product page for specific notices.

Delivery, returns and refunds are covered by our Shipping, Returns and Refund policies, which form part of these terms. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.

Use of the site is also subject to our Acceptable Use Policy. Do not misuse the site, attempt to breach security, or place fraudulent orders.

We provide the shop with reasonable care and skill. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
